Students with special needs

The role of the coordinator for students with special needs (SEN) is mainly:
 
- Actively participate in the identification of applicants and students with SEN,
- assess the specific needs of applicants with SEN and students with SEN
- ensure cooperation with departments and special purpose facilities of the university or faculty
- carry out counselling for students with SEN
- make proposals for the use of funds to support the studies of students with SEN
 
A student with special needs is considered to be a student with
 
- with sensory, physical or multiple disabilities,
- with a chronic illness,
- with a medical impairment,
- a mental illness,
- autism or other pervasive developmental disorders,
- learning disabilities.
 
Support for students and applicants for studies with specific needs is dealt with in Section 100 of Act No 131/2002 Coll. on higher education and on amendments and supplements to certain acts, as amended.
