About the Faculty
The mission of the Faculty of Education of J. Selye University is, in accordance with applicable legislation and internal regulations, to provide, organize, and ensure broad-based, flexible, and dynamic higher education within accredited study programmes, the quality of which is continuously improved. Education delivered at the faculty is based on the latest scientific knowledge and contributes to the development of reflective and critical thinking, as well as to the enhancement of social, communication, and technical skills, forming a foundation for the development of lifelong learning competencies. The faculty places strong emphasis on ensuring that its graduates acquire competencies that enhance their employability and adaptability in the labour market.
The Faculty of Education of J. Selye University purposefully strives to serve as a base for basic and applied research in the field of educational sciences—particularly in the training of future teachers and educators—as well as in the humanities. In doing so, it creates a solid scientific foundation for achieving the educational and developmental goals of the faculty. By making use of continuously improving human and structural resources, the faculty aims to contribute to the development of the region, the strengthening of national identity, and the advancement of the country, as well as to the education of future generations.
Study Programmes
Within the field of study Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, the faculty offers accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes. Students choose a freely selected double combination from the following study programmes:

Independent Study Programmes
The Faculty of Education of J. Selye University also offers independent accredited study programmes, which are available in both full-time and part-time (external) forms:
- Preschool Pedagogy and Teaching in Kindergarten for Children with Special Educational Needs (Bachelor’s degree programme)
- Teacher Training for Primary Education (Master’s degree programme)
Doctoral Studies (PhD.)
At the third level of higher education, the faculty provides accredited doctoral study programmes in both full-time and part-time forms:

- Didactics of German Language and Literature and Slovak Language and Literature
